Following is a list of the visual canvases with a short description:
OBSERVATION
When you look at things, observe, do not judge, do not attach labels, do not form definitions in words . . . just observe.
You may discover a native harmony of life which lies beyond words, images and has the power to transform the observer.
TOUCH
Feel the heat, cold, breeze, rays of the sun, textures, temperature of the objects you touch.
Look at the landscape and notice as many details as you can. It is not so much about thinking, but rather feeling, sensing, loving . . .
TASTE
Every gesture or ingredient of a meal preparation can be carried out with calm deliberation.
The final pleasure is not only in consumption of foods or drinks, but also in their preparation and anticipation
SACRED PLACES
There are places that are sacred, because they radiate mysterious vibrations which are favorable to silence and contemplation.
SELF-OBSERVATION
A wonder to be discovered: there is “I” that observes and there is “Myself” that is being observed.
If, with compassion, you can look at yourself and have the courage to return to this observation after being removed from it by distractions, you may experience the first encounters with silence, although briefly only.
SELF-CONTROL
There is no communion between negative feelings and peace. Getting in touch with thoughts and emotions that intoxicate our judgments and relationships, is the way to peace. Become keenly aware of what they are: negative attitudes. The moment you become aware of them, you regain control over your actions. If not, they will control you.
SILENCE
Sharpen you perception of sounds.
Silence is a mysterious background to every sound.
Do not seek a soundless place; silence can be reached only through sounds.
FOCUSING
Exercise to focus and concentrate. Become aware of relentless flow of thought and emotions within your thinking mind.
Do not be captivated by any of them. Develop the ability to return as soon as possible to observing yourself.
By developing the art of concentration you will harness the reward of tranquility and silence.
